Terms of service
Last updated 30 September 2026
Plain version.Growhound is software that boarding facilities use to run bookings. Your booking and your pet’s care are between you and the facility, not us. Money for a stay goes to the facility, not to Growhound. We charge the facility a subscription, and take no cut of what its customers pay.
1. Who these terms are for
These terms cover two kinds of person. A facility is a business with a Growhound account. A pet owner is somebody who books with that facility through a form Growhound provides. Some sections apply only to one of them, and say so.
2. What Growhound is, and is not
Growhound is booking and management software. We are not a boarding facility, a veterinary service, a payment processor or an insurer. We do not board, transport, groom, treat or supervise any animal, and we are not a party to the agreement between a facility and its customer.
3. For pet owners
When you book, you are contracting with the facility, on the facility’s own terms and its own agreement, which you are asked to read and sign. Cancellations, refunds, what happens if your pet is unwell, and the standard of care are all matters between you and them.
You agree that what you tell them is true, particularly vaccination records, medication, and any history of aggression or escape. A facility relies on that to keep your pet and other animals safe.
Submitting a booking request does not reserve anything. The facility reviews it and decides. If they approve it, your space is held for a limited period while you sign the agreement and pay; if that period passes, the space goes back on sale.
4. Vaccination checks
Growhound can check vaccination dates against the day a pet goes home and block a booking where a required vaccination would expire mid-stay. This is a tool, not a guarantee. It works from what was entered or read from a photograph, it can be wrong, and it does not replace a facility’s own judgement or its legal obligations. The facility remains responsible for who it admits.
5. For facilities
Your account
Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think somebody else has them. You are responsible for what your staff do in your account.
Your customers’ information
It stays yours. We hold and process it on your instructions, as described in the privacy policy. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect it, for what you tell your customers, and for the content of any message you send them through Growhound.
Messages you send
If you use Growhound to text or email your customers, you are responsible for having their agreement to be contacted and for honouring any request to stop. You must not send marketing to somebody who has not agreed to it, and you must not use Growhound to send anything unlawful, misleading or abusive. We may suspend an account that does.
Payments
Card payments run through your own Stripe account and land there directly. Growhound takes no percentage of them. Stripe’s own fees and terms apply between you and Stripe. You are the merchant of record, and refunds and chargebacks are yours to handle.
What you pay us
A subscription per site. The price, the billing period and any trial are whatever we agreed with you in writing. If a payment fails we will tell you before anything is switched off.
Ending it
You can stop at any time, and you can export your data before you go. We can suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, or that puts customers or animals at risk. If we end it without cause we will refund the unused part of what you paid. After an account closes we delete or return your data within 90 days, other than what we must keep by law.
6. Availability
We work to keep Growhound running and we do not promise it will never be unavailable. We will give notice of planned maintenance where we reasonably can.
7. Liability
Growhound is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Nothing in these terms makes us responsible for the care of an animal. That sits with the facility.
8. Changes
We may change these terms. If a change matters, we will tell facilities before it takes effect, and continuing to use Growhound after that means accepting it.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and the courts there have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
